The closure of the Apollo Vredestein tire factory in Enschede will result in job losses for approximately 500 employees by the end of June. However, according to Paolo Oddo of the company's works council, the strong labor market is enabling workers to transition smoothly to new positions, with many having already signed contracts with other employers. Union representative Monique Daamen of the FNV reports that at least 25 percent of Vredestein Apollo's workforce has already found new employment, which she describes as a positive starting point for the affected employees.
