Amal Khalil, a seasoned journalist for the Lebanese news outlet Al-Akhbar, died in an Israeli strike in southern Lebanon. She had extensively covered the region during the current conflict, as well as during previous military escalations in 2023 and 2024. Khalil frequently collaborated with independent photographer Zeinab Faraj, who was wounded in the same incident. The killing marks another casualty among journalists reporting on the ongoing violence in the region.
